PEACEMAKING GUEST PREACHER, THE REV. ZULEMA GARCIA September 16, 2018   September 16, 2018 Ginter Park Presbyterian Church will receive an official visit from Reverend Zulema Garcia who is the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Venezuela.  She is traveling this fall to several PCUSA Churches throughout the PCUSA’s Peacemaking Program.  Rev. Garcia is visiting the PCUSA at a time when the Church of Venezuela is focusing on many feeding programs, including food pantries and soup kitchens as well as church gardens.  This year GPPC entered into mission partnership with these efforts through an endowment grant of $5000 to support the Presbyterian Church of Venezuela.  These efforts were mobilized by the Venezuelan Mission Network, and through the PCUSA’s Peacemaking Program.  Mati Moros, co-moderator of the Venezuelan Mission Network, and member of GPPC advocated for the session to approve this resource for the Venezuelan Church’s urgent food programs.  The Presbyterian Church USA has been in relationship with the Presbyterian Church of Venezuela for over a century, and has participated through mission personnel and projects throughout these years.  Rev. Garcia will offer the adult Sunday school lesson and will be the Peacemaking guest preacher on Sunday, September 16.  Please join us in welcoming Rev. Garcia.   Join us after church on September 16 in the Fellowship Hall for lunch with our September Mission Speaker, the Reverend Zulema Garcia, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Venezuela. Bring your questions about the church and state in Venezuela, as well as side dishes to share. Barbecue will be provided.
