Yet the words came from Abraham Lincoln as a vision for human rights before the start of the Civil War, and they recently adorned a sign held by our pastor as she witnessed for the rights of same-sex couples before a courthouse deliberating on Virginia’s marriage ban. Carla drew on that experience when she was asked to write about marriage equality for the PCUSA’s journal “Unbound”.
